The Present Belongs To Us

"But I can't escape the decisions and actions of my past. The present is not a blank slate, and I'm fully developed. I have my likes and dislikes, my personal preferences. I don't need a blank slate. I don't want one, and no matter what you say about it, I don't have a blank slate to work on. I have a bunch of ongoing sagas, and it takes all my time and energy just to keep my whole life from careening off a cliffside. I dont have time for daydreaming."

"What if I told you you could write a new future for yourself on a tiny little sliver of that slate? Just look away from all the ongoing sagas of your life for a few minutes, and have a conversation with me about the future."

"A tiny little new future on a tiny little sliver of the slate? You're being kind of ridiculous, you know."

"Well let's try it, okay? We'll see if it's ridiculous or brilliant. And I promise it won't take you away from the ongoing sagas of your life for too long."

"Do I have a choice?"

"Always."

Stay tuned for more of the ongoing conversation "The Present Belongs To Us."

Returning

Returning is always so much fun. I had been trying to switch all my blogs over to Wordpress, but this program works better for Soul Visions, so I am choosing to have blogs on both Google and Wordpress. It's a little complicated, but not so much. And when I get my personal website up, there will be links to everything, or I may import everything. Have to ask the techie.

But the point is, I'm back and happy to be here.

I've been redefining the mission of my ministry in this lifetime. It becomes clearer to me all the time. I am here to learn myself and then help others to maintain spiritual well-being during these difficult times.

I'm calling my ministry "Reiki-Be...Reiki-Do" since I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui tradition. This name places the choice about being up front and the actions that it creates come naturally from the choice related to being.

Who we are being is always critical. Our beliefs and our thinking, and especially our stand and who we say we are for ourselves and for others and what we can be counted on for by others,  these are powerful choices. And they are OUR choices. The present belongs to us.

It is a delusion to have it the other way, but most people do have it the other way, believing incorrectly that who they are, and who we get to be are the result of what we and others have done, and all of our past experiences. About all of which they have no choice. It can't be changed. It is what it is. Even typing these phrases brings my energy down. "It" happened and now this is my life - I hear such thinking and believing all the time. In fact, sometimes I do it myself. So depressing!

But not only does this kind of orientation in life make us miserable,  these beliefs also conspire to keep us in darkness. To believe we are the product of our past is to live in a tunnel. I am holding the light at the end of the tunnel, and yes I will come in after you and lead you out.

We are an assembly of people committed to living at a higher level of consciousness, a level where all things are connected, where no material gain or loss, no status or lack of status, no illness or injury, no treasure beyond measure...I'm saying NOTHING in this earthly existence is of much importance when weighed against our spiritual mission and our spiritual well-being.

If we are guided by these Principles of Spiritual Well-Being, we will not lose our way in life. We are not here to descent to the level of animals, though sometimes they appear to behave better than we do. We have been seduced by these bodies and this planet. It is true our bodies, and our brains are part of our bodies, belong to this planet. But never forget that your spirit is immortal. You are just visiting. Like an exchange-student, you have learned the local customs and studied many aspects and invented many fabulous things. And made us quite comfortable on the whole, temporary as this arrangement may be, and however doomed to failure. But for now, it's working in our favor. So stop taking it so seriously and let's move on. We must turn our attention to the next level.

In our assembly, we practice many ways to access our higher selves, and we tell our stories and share our experiences and learnings. If you would like to join the Reiki-Be...Reiki-Do assembly, please send me an email at stillwalkn@gmail.com

Casting Out a Spirit

What a blast! Yesterday I casted out a spirit that was troubling a family, especially their 11 year old girl. It seems this ghost liked the girl's bedroom best of all places in the house.

They had tried the Catholic Church, smudging, crystals, prayers, just telling it to leave. Nothing worked.

The minute I walked in the house, I felt an uncomfortable fullness in the space, like a congestion. In the girl's bedroom it was oppressive. It made me woozy, sick at my stomach. It felt like a vice was squeezing my head. Pressure.

The ghost was afraid to go to the light. It was afraid that it was going to its judgment, and sure it was going to be condemned. I reassured it that there is no heaven or hell, and nothing bad was going to happen to it. Then we cast it out, using salt and crystals. And it left. Poof! Gone.

That was so much fun.

The Dark Side

Embrace your dark side's point of view. Hear its insights, validate its feelings, assimilate all your darkness has to offer.

Your dark side has its feet on the ground. It gives you your capacity for compassion. It allows you to forgive. It is your broken heart. Start by considering that we are all mirror images of each other. Don't allow yourself to deny it. No exceptions. Start by looking at yourself. Get real. No make up. No clothes to dress it up. Think about your cells, your bones, your blood, your waste.

Only when we know that the seed of great evil lives in every one us equally, can we stop comparing so as to include and exclude, deny and admit, punish and praise. Then and only then do we really have a choice. Not between good and bad. or right and wrong. Not because we should or shouldn't. Just because we have a choice. We are not compelled. We are free.

What if I told you that doing evil is very rewarding? That it is thrilling? That it is fun? Do you still choose the path of kindness? What if I told you there is no hell? No heaven? What if I told you Karma is just a story somebody made up to control the masses? What if you could get away with anything? Everything? What would you do then? Would you still choose to give and not take?

You are as capable of hatred as love, of judgment as of mercy. You are not one or the other. You are both. You have a choice in every moment. Never pretend it is not so. Be honest about the choices you make. When you embrace your dark side, you become whole. When you are whole, you will never judge another person. Nor will you ever see yourself as a victim.

Feet On The Ground

Sometimes I am struck by the tendency of spiritual-minded people to get their heads in the clouds and forget that their feet are on the ground.

In fact this tendency irritates the shit out of me. I want to call myself Rose, The Reiki Bitch just to make a point. You can't deny yourself and remain authentic. An authentic human being is a complex mixture of animal and spiritual beings. To attempt to separate these dimensions is to deny your life.

It is our job to embrace our life. And our life is in this world, not apart from it.

A Good Morning For An Attunement

It's a good morning for an attunement. I woke up refreshed and alert, and my hands are alive with tingling energy. My attention is focused on giving an attunement, and the energy is building around this purpose. It feels good to be in full Reiki mode.

Namaste.
